À propos de Chinese Tutor – Yan
I'm a native Mandarin speaker. I love reading and writing since I was a kid. Chinese culture and history have always interested me.
For the past five years I've worked as a software engineer in the semiconductor industry. Over time I realized it's not what I want to keep doing. Making a chip smaller and smarter is not making the world a better place. What truly motivates me is helping each other learn and fostering cross-cultural exchange.
As I'm building my teaching profile, I'm offering lessons at an introductory rate. This gives you the opportunity to receive high-quality, personalized lessons at a more affordable price. What I offer may be a little different, but it will be unique and valuable.

1. I tailor everything to your goals based on a pre-lesson questionnaire. I design the lesson around your real-life scenarios — whether you need business Chinese for work, practical phrases for daily life, or cultural insight for travel.
2. I also create personalized review materials, such as vocabulary summaries and dialogue exercises, to help you study more efficiently between lessons.
3. I provide a Notion-based learning system built on the Ebbinghaus forgetting curve and spaced repetition, helping you review the right material at the right time in a structured way.
4. I’m familiar with Chinese internet culture and social media - Memes, wordplay, slang, trending phrases on WeChat and Xiaohongshu. I can help you understand the kind of Chinese you actually see online and in daily life. Let's make it fun!
