À propos de Chey

Academic: FASHION BA (In China), MARKETING MA (Neoma in France, and Emory in US) Professional experience: *5 years as a marketer *6 years as a corporate trainer (Teaching Business English to Chinese adults who work in multinational companies) *1 year as a Chinese teacher. Why education: I believe education (parenting, school, self-learning etc.) plays a key role and has an enormous influence on shaping one's personal life and career. I find it meaningful to become an educator to have a positive impact on my students. Why language education: language is an immersive subject including ideas, information, history, knowledge etc., another aspect is using the language to communicate and connect with others which can lead to amazing life experiences. The process of learning a language allows one to dive deep into another culture which can be completely different from one's own, it makes you ask questions, it challenges your philosophical, spiritual and intellectual beliefs, it expands one's capacity to learn about oneself and others, to empathize, to accept and to enjoy.

*Interdisciplinary approach : integrating theories in cognitive psychology (how to learn, how memory works etc.), linguistics (the nature and history of Chinese characters etc.), culture (how social norms and ideologies or ancient philosophers shape the Chinese language etc.) *Creating an enjoyable and fun learning experience by sourcing and customizing learning materials like movies, literature, music etc. catering to students' interests and levels. *Practical application of language: designing creative formats of using the language and self-practice instructions.
