À propos de Marija
I don't want students to simply learn how to solve a mathematical problem — I want them to understand why the method works and where they can use it.
I usually approach a topic in three steps: understand the idea, connect it to an application, and then practise using it independently.
For example, probability is not just about formulas — it can help us understand uncertainty and make decisions. Statistics is not just about calculating an average — it can help us discover patterns in real data. Even more abstract mathematical concepts become easier to remember when students can see what they are actually describing.
I therefore try to move back and forth between intuition, theory and practical examples, rather than teaching mathematics as a collection of rules to memorise.
My goal is for students to reach the point where they can look at a new problem and think: “I understand what is happening here, and I know how to approach it.”

Do statistics, probability or quantitative methods feel overwhelming? I help university and college students understand challenging concepts, work through exercises and prepare for exams with confidence.
I hold an MSc in Mathematics from the University of Zurich and have over five years of teaching and research experience. I have taught applied statistics, business statistics, quantitative methods and mathematics to students from different academic backgrounds.
I offer individual tutoring in:
Statistics and probability
Business statistics and quantitative methods
Regression and hypothesis testing
University mathematics
R / RStudio and statistical data analysis
My teaching approach is structured, patient and adapted to each student's needs. I focus on understanding the concepts, not just memorising formulas, so students can apply what they learn independently.
Online lessons and in-person tutoring near Spreitenbach and the Zürich region, by arrangement.
