I teach because I love the moment an idea becomes something you can make with your own hands. I especially enjoy sharing African textile techniques and helping students see that fashion skills can be learned, practised and made their own.

I teach fashion through making.
If you're curious about African textiles, we can begin with tie-dye — exploring colour, folding and binding techniques, then creating a piece of fabric that is entirely your own. From there, you can learn how that fabric becomes a garment: through design, pattern making, cutting and sewing.
You can also choose to focus on one skill. Perhaps you want to learn to use a sewing machine, make your first garment, understand how patterns work, or develop your skills in menswear and tailoring — a discipline I know especially well, having served as Head of Menswear. We'll start with what you already know and what you'd love to make, then build each lesson around a practical project.
You will understand why something works, try it with your own hands, and leave each lesson with a skill you can use again — whether you're picking up a needle for the first time or looking to deepen skills you already have.
