Hey there!
I’m Lucas, a 32-year-old French native from the charming town of Colmar. I’m passionate about both the French language and culture—and yes, croissants might just have a little more of my heart than conjugations!
My journey took me from Colmar to Strasbourg, where I earned a degree in European Business Management, and then across the English Channel to London in 2014. After a couple of years in the UK, I found my new home in Berlin, where I’ve been living since 2016, teaching French and sharing my love for the language. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me diving into my various hobbies, like cosmology, sociology, writing, basketball, and rocking out to some 70s music or hip-hop. As a Leo, I’m sociable, energetic, and always ready to meet new people from all walks of life!

As a native French speaker with 3 years of online teaching experience, I offer personalized French lessons for learners of all levels, including teenagers with basic knowledge of French. As a self-taught language enthusiast, I prefer to keep things flexible and engaging, making learning both fun and effective. I offer a free first session to get to know you, assess your needs, and show you how I teach.
Teaching Techniques and Methods I’m committed to providing high-quality, tailored lessons, and I limit my teaching hours to 20 per week to ensure I can give each student my full attention. This approach allows me to build strong, personal connections and offer dedicated support. I believe that learning should be practical and immersive, so I make sure our lessons are always relevant to your real-world needs. Each lesson begins like a casual conversation with a friend. I’ll ask about your week, any recent events, and what’s coming up, which helps us practice speaking about the past and future in a relaxed, natural way. For beginners, we’ll focus on building a solid foundation in grammar and pronunciation, with plenty of tools to help you study independently. If you’re more advanced, we’ll work on your speaking, slang, and French culture to make your language skills sound natural. I’ll also recommend films, podcasts, and videos based on your interests to help you improve your listening skills in a fun way.

After our casual check-in, we jump into activities tailored to your goals—whether it’s conversation, vocabulary, or comprehension, all designed to keep things relaxed and engaging. Between lessons, I’m always available to give you tips or share extra resources to help you make steady progress.
My Unique Qualities as a Teacher I’m easygoing, approachable, and love connecting with people from all walks of life. Having lived in London and now based in Berlin, I understand the challenges that English and German speakers face when learning French. My experience includes teaching German students and even coaching actors on film sets, so I bring a practical, immersive touch to my lessons.

My courses are designed for adults and teenagers with basic French skills who want to improve their language abilities—whether for travel, work, or simply to speak like a local. Lucas is one of the best French instructors that I have ever had! I wanted a tutor for conversational lessons and he is a rock star! He always has interesting vocabulary and linguistic expressions that he includes in the lessons in order to make them engaging! He is also very encouraging when it comes to progress and helps me as a student to have confidence in myself that my French is getting better! I always look forward to having lessons with him and I highly recommend!
I started taking French lessons with Lucas last December to prepare for a summer trip to Paris. It had been 10 years since I last studied the language and needed help to remember enough to get by. Well that trip has come and gone and there’s a reason I continue to do my weekly lessons with him! Lucas is not only a knowledgeable and patient teacher, he makes learning enjoyable and not feel like a chore. I thoroughly enjoy our sessions and look forward to them each week.
If you are lucky, he’ll also show you his killer dance moves..Lucas has been my tutor for almost a year now. I started with just a basic level from school and now I can speak freely in conversation! Lucas has a great sense of humor, is kind and above all is patient. He utilizes reading, listening, translating and conversation to keep lessons interesting.
