À propos de Chase
I hold a Master’s degree in English Literature from a U.S. university and have three years of experience teaching debate, rhetoric, and writing to young students. I have also studied Creative Nonfiction at New York University and worked professionally as a journalist.
I enjoy working with students of all ages, including children, teenagers, university students, and adults. I am patient, attentive, and comfortable adapting my teaching style to different personalities and learning needs.
My goal is to make English feel understandable rather than intimidating. Whether a student needs help with grammar, pronunciation, reading comprehension, schoolwork, writing, or interpreting a difficult text, I use a scaffolded teaching approach—breaking difficult material into manageable steps, modelling the process, practising it together, and gradually giving the student more independence as their confidence grows.
I aim to create lessons that are structured and productive, but also relaxed, engaging, and enjoyable.

I tailor each lesson to the student’s age, level, goals, and learning style. I work with children, teenagers, university students, and adults, and I aim to make English clear, engaging, and confidence-building.
My teaching is based on a scaffolded approach: I break difficult material into manageable steps, model the skill, practise it together with the student, and gradually encourage independent application. Depending on the student’s needs, lessons may focus on grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, schoolwork, or interpreting difficult texts.
My approach is shaped by three years of teaching debate to middle-school students, where I taught argument structure, refutation, logic, and delivery using methods such as the ARE framework. I have also worked as a university teaching assistant, leading discussions, providing extensive written feedback, and helping students strengthen their understanding of course material.
For more advanced students, I also offer support in essay writing, textual analysis, rhetoric, argumentation, and academic English.
