À propos de Noel
My name is Noel Swords. I'm Irish. I'm a native speaker of English. I have 22 years' experience teaching English in Ireland, Brazil, and Italy. I also have over one hundred written recommendations from past students. I prioritise teaching my students skills, HOW to learn English, and not only WHAT to learn. The more skills you learn, the more independent you become as a student, the more control you have over your studies, and the less you need me. This is good for your motivation and your interest in learning English.

Reading
We focus on speaking and reading in the lessons. We read at the beginning of every lesson. Then we analyse the text for common expressions: collocations, phrasal verbs, phrases, etc. The objective is to train the student to notice more when he or she reads.
Speaking
As the student speaks, I correct all mistakes: vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, etc. I type the corrections on screen, and the student revises this information after the lesson. At the end of the lesson, I give feedback on the mistakes made. But correcting mistakes and giving feedback are not enough. I also teach my students skills which will help you to understand HOW to learn and not only WHAT to learn. The more skills you know, the more control you can have over your learning, and the less you need me.
My Method
I use the modern communicative approach, meaning that English is taught and learnt by means of reading, writing, speaking, listening, and revising. I teach spoken English. I focus on intensive conversation practice. I don’t teach business English, legal English, or exam lessons. I don’t teach older methods: audio-lingual, grammar-translation.

Précisions
Your First Free Lesson
The first free lesson is in fact a free online consultation which can last anything from fifteen to thirty minutes, depending on the number of questions the student asks. The free consultation is in English. I will explain my lessons and answer all your questions.
My Working hours
Monday to Saturday: 9 am, 10 am, 11 am, 12 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, 4 pm. Monday to Thursday: 7 pm, 8 pm. I’m Irish. I’m from Ireland but I live in Italy. Now you can use the internet to check the time difference between Italy and the country where you live, and then you can try to find a time for your lessons that works with my working hours.
