À propos d'Eda
My name is Eda. I am a composer, vocalist, multimedia artist, and educator with a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley. I work internationally in composition, electronic music, performance, and multimedia art, and my work has been presented by renowned ensembles, festivals, and institutions in Europe and the United States. Alongside my artistic career, I have extensive university teaching experience and a strong commitment to mentoring emerging musicians and creators. I approach teaching as both a creative and intellectual practice. I am deeply interested in helping students build artistic identity while also developing technical precision and strong conceptual thinking. Whether I am working with composition students, electronic musicians, vocalists, or interdisciplinary artists, I encourage curiosity, experimentation, thoughtful listening, and artistic honesty. I currently teach in Strasbourg and occasionally in Paris, while continuing my research and artistic projects. I enjoy working with a wide range of students, from motivated beginners to advanced musicians and professionals who are seeking artistic feedback, technical refinement, or creative direction. If you are looking for guidance that combines artistic depth, high-level professional experience, and a supportive teaching environment, I would be happy to work with you. My name is Eda. I am a composer, vocalist, multimedia artist, researcher, and educator with a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley. I have extensive international experience as both a professional composer and a university-level teacher, and I am passionate about helping students develop a personal artistic voice, technical mastery, and confidence in their creative practice. I offer individual lessons, mentorship, and artistic coaching in: • Composition (classical, contemporary, experimental, multimedia) • Electronic music and sound design (Ableton Live, Max/MSP, creative production) • Creative portfolio preparation for conservatories, universities, and grants • Contemporary and experimental vocal practice and extended techniques • Musical storytelling, form, notation, and conceptual development • Music theory, ear training, and structural analysis • Guidance for artistic research, performance practice, and interdisciplinary projects My teaching is rigorous, supportive, and highly personalized. Whether you are just beginning to explore composition, already an advanced student preparing for professional opportunities, or a practicing artist seeking feedback and growth, I adapt my approach to your level, goals, and artistic identity. I teach in person in Strasbourg (and occasionally in Paris), and I am also open to online lessons. I work with motivated students, emerging artists, university applicants, researchers, and professionals interested in expanding their musical language. Teaching Experience at UC Berkeley At the University of California, Berkeley, I have taught and designed undergraduate courses as Instructor of Record, including: • MUS 57 – Introduction to Electronic Music Composition Exploration of electronic composition, musical structure, sound design, sampling, granulation, automation, and creative listening, leading students toward the creation of original works. • MUS 105 – Introduction to Music Production (Ableton Live) A hands-on course covering audio and MIDI production, sampling, synthesis, mixing fundamentals, warping, creative studio techniques, and development of structured musical projects. • NEW MEDIA 90 – Sound Design for New Media Applications A course I designed and developed, focusing on immersive sound, spatial audio, digital synthesis, interactive systems, installation sound, and sound for VR/AR and multimedia environments, integrating sound creatively within contemporary new media practices. If you are looking for serious artistic guidance, thoughtful mentorship, and technically grounded training, I would be happy to support your development and help you move forward in your musical journey.
