Je suis une femme professionnelle, née et élevée en Normandie, en France, et je suis titulaire de deux MBA (un français et un de l'Université de Syracuse). Je travaille actuellement dans le marketing numérique pour les services financiers. Fait intéressant, j'ai vécu et travaillé dans de nombreux pays avant de venir aux États-Unis, notamment en Suisse, en Hongrie et en Pologne. Je parle aussi allemand. Je travaille actuellement à domicile grâce à Covid à South Charlotte, NC

À propos du cours

J'ai été le tutorat des élèves des collèges, lycées et collèges au cours des 10 dernières années et je concentre les leçons sur la grammaire en lisant, en écrivant, en écoutant et en parlant! J'aime partager ma culture à travers des vidéos d'événements actuels et pertinents. Un de mes élèves a travaillé avec moi pendant 3 ans et s'est maintenu fort pendant ses années de lycée et maîtrisait tous les verbes!

Grant is back into the study of French after living in France as a teenager. Grant is great and likes to be challenged. We focus a lot of conversation and the verbs...! Knowing the conjugation is key and really indicates your mastering of the language! I really have been enjoying our weekly sessions for the last few years!

Richard reached out to me to get his Son, a Jnuior in HS in FRench 3 honors back on track and finish the year strong. Communication is great. Student is dedicated and on time. I can see also that he has great foundations and I think i can get him quickly up to speed on his curriculum

I am tutoring weekly Gwena a 7th grader with her Middle School French. Gwena is very motivated and always on time for her sessions. I can feel her level of confidence going up, which will accelerate her earning even more

Lili contacted me last June to help her daughter work on her French during the summer, even from her foreign vacation location, in order to prepare for an entrance exam IN French. She not only succeeded in passing it, but is clearly ahead of her classes. Her two daughters are still actively learning French and making amazing progress.

Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?
I was born and raised in the city of Rouen, which is the capital of Normandy in France.
Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?
As a native of Rouen, I would certainly mention Joan of Arc, which was sadly burnt at stake on May 30th, 1431. Her story is phenomenal and so inspiring
Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?
I really enjoy when French people debate and talk about any subjects, without being too political correct. Voices might be raised at times, but everyone is heard and leaves the table without any hurt feelings.
Why does speaking this language matter to you?
As a native speaker and having lived abroad most of my professional career, I feel that French is such rich language and deserves to be nurtured.
What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?
The difficulty of French is the written grammar and the fact that they are so many exceptions to the rules.
How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?
I have lived and worked in 5 countries and I have been impressed in some cases by the high fluency of some of my business partners: extremely impressive, especially in Central and Eastern Europe.
What makes you a Super Prof in language?
I have been helping students of all ages for the last 10 years and I have learnt along the way various tricks to help understand some of the most difficult points of grammar. I have met so many terrific students, and can proudly say that I help them to improve their scores. In one specific case, I help a student prepare for an entrance placement tests at a highly competitive high school, and after a whole summer of bi-weekly meetings, she exceeded her initial goal.
